Anthony Keech, Professor of Medicine, Cardiology and Epidemiology at the University of Sydney and deputy director of the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, is an internationally known researcher in the field of cardiovascular clinical trials. He has co-authored more than 135 peer-reviewed journal publications, many of which have  have had major impacts on clinical care and health policy. 
He is the Chair and Principal Investigator of the FIELD diabetes study. The large dataset from nearly 10,000 patients and patients’ blood samples are being analysed, providing information for cardiovascular prevention. 
Professor Keech is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He also teaches, supervises and mentors postgraduate students and physician trainees.
